Wonderings, ramblings, and chatter of a sometimes pissed, sometimes cheery chick

As we all know, there has been a lot of controversy lately over whether American states should gives gays and lesbians the right to marry, adopt, etc. George Dubya Bush strongly accepts the idea of there being a new law in the Constitution, one that states that the only marriage acceptable is between man and woman. Not a good idea, Mr. President. Now the gays and lesbians of the community refuse to vote for you.

Anyways, Mr. President says that it violates the "sacred covenant with God" (Galatians). Maybe for you, but not for me. It would be a commitment between me and my partner. Isn't there a strict law not to combine church with government anyways? The atheists, anarchists, agnostics wouldn't like that...

"It's a threat to marriage" Who's? Not mine, or yours for that matter.

"Homosexuality is unnatural" I don't think so.. Many scientists have found homosexual behavior throughout the animal kingdom. Ever heard of lesbian seagulls?

Bottom line- To those religious people out there: why not hate the sin, not the sinner? I would have thought that a religious president such as Bush would have opened that moral up already. For didn't Jesus himself say it?

I am still backingthe Bible, 100%. Those flat earth references are unclear and symbolistic. People like you are killing our religion, in my eyes you, are like a cult leader, lead by Satan to make things seem reasonable and "smart" when you are really, whether you realize it or not, are detaching people from the true God we should follow, not just the parts of God that seem credible, you must have inner strength to fight Satan in your brain. I'm just here to save you guys before it's too late, but in God's eyes and my eyes you should be killed anyway, call me eccentric, but I am just following my faith.

And you're no better, trying to push the morals and values of your religion down other's throats who do not wish to live by your God's rules. What makes you any better?

I don't know, he's threatened to have me stoned, which, in the state in which I live means I can press charges, have the records of the blogsite examined, his IP address hunted down and himself thrown into jail. Hmmm, interesting thought, but seriously not worth the effort for some raving luney.

I totally support gay marriage! It's so nice to find artcles like this on JU when there are so many insane religious fanatics who are so closed minded. There needs to be progression in gay rights, and though it's controversial at the moment I am certain marriage rights are soon to come whether the fundamentalists like it or not.

Oh, and for those who are confused by jebidia's outburst, he/she simply cut and pasted her/his response in God's view on homosexuality, over to here.

In Britain we shall never permit gay marriage. It is blasphemy, I am a close friend of the Archbishop of Canterbury and I will exert my influence to stop this offence towards God whether the liberals like it or not!

Irony, I'm a good friend of one of the leaders of the Church of Scotland, who desires to remain nameless because of his issues with church of England, and he says, "Bugger the Brits, let the gays marry if they want."

Being a Presbyterian(Church of Scotland in America), I know this great joke Sir Peter, that you should tell the Queen the next time you see her, it's quite popular amongst the CoS crowd and it goes like this:

The Queen of England is the Head of the Church of England, but the instant she enters Scotland she's merely a member of the Church of Scotland.

I admit, you have to appreciate the dry scottish humor, and have a few Scotchs in your belly to truely be rolling on the floor over that one, but still. And Sir Peter, it appears as if your influence with the good old Archbishop didn't do much good when the Episcopal Church in America appointed a gay bishop.

God Bless the Stewarts and John Knox.

It is no wonder England has dominated Scotland so many times, and indeed executed its Queen. You may think that you are leading the way but as Henry VII once said when referring to Anglo-Scottish relations 'The greater will draw the lesser'.

"God Bless the Stewarts and John Knox."

It is spelt 'Stuart' dear boy and God is an Englishman.

You didn't execute the Queen, John Knox had already had her exiled from Scotland, and James VI had been declared King, there's not much honor in executing an exile. And the Scottish kicked the English a number of times, need I remind you that your current queen, through a rather conveluted route is more directly related to James I Stuart (stewart), or James VI of Scotland, than she is to Edward I.

As it has already been said, the greater drew the lesser, James I hated Scotland and yearned to be King of England. It is no wonder.

unless you're using a different tense than you could possibly have been using in that sentence.
